We believe that real cowboy experiences are gained by living the life of a cowboy. And that is exactly what we invite our guests to do at Steens Mountain Guest Ranch, live the life. With us, it’s all about doing, not merely watching.
Below is a list showcasing the things you may find yourself doing as a member of the crew on the dude ranch in Southeastern Oregon. The horse weight limit is 230 lbs.

At Steens Mountain Guest Ranch, we limit our 4-day and 5-day Summer and Fall Cowboy Dude Ranch Experiences to 4 persons at a time. We believe in giving our guests a very personalized experience. These Experiences begin at 9:00 am on the first day and end by 3:00 pm on the last day.
For questions or to make a reservation, please call Steen’s Mountain Guest Ranch at 541-493-1164. A non-refundable deposit of $1,295 for the 4-day trip or $1,495 for the 5-day trip is required to hold your reservation. The remaining balance is due upon arrival at the ranch. The Preferred method of payment is cash or check, but we also gladly accept credit cards.
Cancellation Policy: The deposit is non-refundable.
However, we realize that unexpected emergencies arise, so the deposit will be honored for another full guest season, the same or following year, only for a similar Experience.
